Dr. Thomas R. Pointner graduated from the University Of Ill. College of Dentistry in 1992, where he earned an award for clinical excellence and was 12th in his class. He first worked on the west side of Elgin as an associate dentist for a large three office, group practice. He eventually purchased one of those offices and Fox Valley Dental Care, L.L.C. was born.

Tom is the past Chief of the Dental Department at Sherman Hospital and was recently selected to be included in the 2004-2005 edition of The Best Dentists In America. This book is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which over 9600 leading dentists throughout the country cast more than 125,000 votes on the abilities of other dentists in their specialties. Because listings cannot be purchased and no payment is required to be listed, inclusion in Best Dentists is considered a singular honor.

Tom enjoys sports, music, and spending time with his wife and two children. When asked about the best part of being a dentist, his response was..."My favorite part of being a dentist is the smile on the face of a patient who came to us a complete dental phobic and has now become a trusting, happy part of our practice. It's the 'Thank you, doc' as they walk out the door that is the real reward."

Dr. Payal Trivedi graduated from the University Of Illinois College of Dentistry in May of 2002. After passing her board exams with flying colors, she joined Fox Valley Dental Care in August 02 and has been a wonderful addition to our practice. Her fine communication skills, coupled with her technically superior dentistry, have allowed her to very quickly bridge the gap between being a dental student and a practicing dentist. Now, several years later, patients have really come to enjoy her presence in our office. Her skilled hands and a gentle, calming demeanor have become her trademarks as a dentist.

Dr. Trivedi lives in South Barrington with her husband and in-laws. In her spare time, she likes to read, dance, listen to music, cook, and of course shop! When asked how she feels about dentistry, Dr. Trivedi says, "I didn't know that it would be this rewarding to treat patients and put a smile on their faces. To be part of such a service driven, modern, and caring practice has been great. And with such wonderful diversity in our patients here, I get to treat lots of kids and families as well as our retired friends who come here for care. Great patients make this profession so much fun."

Dr. Josephine Puleo graduated from the University of Illinois in 2005 and is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois Dental Society, American Association of Women Dentists and Chicago Dental society. Josephine has been with Fox Valley Dental Care since 2007 after spending the first two years after dental school working in the city of Chicago. She maintains her affiliation with the Chicago office and works in our practice on Thursdays. Her easy going attitude and attention to clinical detail has allowed her to fit right in, here in Elgin. Josephine enjoys dancing and shopping. She recently returned from a mission trip to Jamaica where she was able to provide dental services to under-priviledged children -- and had a great time doing it!
